Books books books

Oh, how I love books. The promise of them, a whole world waiting for you beyond the cover. All the senses used. The look, the feel, the visuals created in the mind. The smell of them. I think there are about 5 different book smells. But perhaps there are more. I have no problem with kindle and the new technology of reading books electronically. Apparently they look and feel “just like the real thing.”  But what do they smell like? That’s the important question. Am I alone in thinking that the smell of the book is part of the sensory treat of escaping into book world?  Or is the narrative enough?
